Marshall Handmade Market • November 2017

The Marshall Handmade Market is one of the most well-loved events of the year in this part of the Appalachian Mountains. Folks come from all over to the little town of Marshall, NC, to see what wares their favorite makers are selling this season. I did participate last year, fresh off the moving truck from Houston, but this year was special. I set up shop in the studio, and had the pleasure of sharing my space with OWL Bakery. They have developed a cult following from their brick and mortar in West Asheville over the past few years, and this day was no exception. They offered some of the best pastries I've ever had (local folks.. go to lunch there soon, you won't regret it!) and drew a continuous crowd–even though we were at the end of the hall on the second floor. Thanks, OWL! My hand dyed linen goods and sturdy aprons were well received, and I had the pleasure of making several custom aprons afterwards.

The market is usually the Saturday before Thanksgiving at Marshall High Studios in Marshall, NC, from 10am to 5pm. Mark your calendars!
