Utilizing materials and objects found in the artist's environment, Rachel Hudson speaks to the ongoing uncertainty in the changing climate that humans currently find themselves experiencing. Rachel works with the surrounding landscape of Texas, foraging for materials to create unique paints using rocks, minerals, plants and herbs, eco dyed fabrics and textiles, along with eco printing on paper to create mixed media artworks. Rachel is best known for tapping into the resources that are readily available inspired by landscapes, nature and nature's decay to form works that push the viewer to see their surroundings in new ways. Creating wearable art sparked her interest in working with materials and mediums in new ways; experimentation is the key to all of the artwork that Rachel produces.
